Loop Two Our second loop took us up and down Waterton Canyon We would have preferred to hike these easy miles at night, but hiking is not allowed in Waterton Canyon after dark |

2:56 PM; Mile 28 After a short stop below Strontia Springs Dam, we started back down Waterton Canyon As the afternoon shadows lengthened, the magnitude of the task we had set for ourselves began to sink in. We had already done more than a marathon, but were just getting warmed up. |
