Seven Utes Mountain – 11,453 feet |
This eclectic Elevener is 2.2 miles west of Mount Richthofen and the Continental Divide in the northern Never Summer Range.
This surprising summit makes a good winter outing, and it has become a favorite with serious backcountry skiers.

Northeast Slopes
– 6.0 miles RT, 2,053 feet net and total, Class 2 |
This is a route for all seasons. Start at the Seven Utes Trailhead
at 9,400 feet. From here, the peak is directly to the south,
but the rounded summit is hidden from view. Follow old roads north up into the unnamed drainage
that is northeast of the peak, from which you can see the peak. When the road ends and the cirque wall looms,
climb steeply to the 10,980-foot saddle that is east of Seven Utes Mountain,
then hike 0.5 mile west up a rounded ridge to the broad summit. |
